Soak the rice cakes in water 1 hour before starting to cook
Prep the vegetables (green onion, shallots, Brussels sprouts, button mushrooms) and grill them in a pan until nicely browned
Sear the sirloin on both sides to get a good Maillard reaction, then slice into bite-sized pieces
Using the same pan from cooking the vegetables and sirloin, add the sauce (water, dark soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, minced garlic, pepper) without sesame oil and the soaked rice cakes; cook until the rice cakes are soft
Add the grilled vegetables and continue cooking on medium heat for 5 more minutes, then stir in sesame oil to finish
Serve the tteokbokki and steak in a generous, voluminous presentation and top with foie gras mousse
