Rinse deodeok several times to remove dirt and cut off the crown.
Place on a cutting board and peel with a vegetable peeler.
Cut in half, slice into thick pieces, and flatten with a rolling pin.
Mix 2T sesame oil and 2T brewed soy sauce, then brush both sides of the deodeok (this is yujang).
In a bowl, combine 2T gochujang, 1T red pepper flakes, 1T brewed soy sauce, 1T sugar, 1T corn syrup, 1T minced garlic, and 3T water to make the sauce.
Place the yujang-coated deodeok in a pan and grill for 1 minute.
Flip and thinly brush with the sauce, grilling both sides with the sauce until done.
