Rinse the deodeok several times to remove dirt and cut off the head
Place on a cutting board and peel with a peeler
Cut in half, slice flat, and roll with a rolling pin
Mix 2T sesame oil and 2T brewed soy sauce, then brush on both sides of the deodeok
In a bowl, combine 2T gochujang, 1T red pepper flakes, 1T brewed soy sauce, 1T sugar, 1T corn syrup, 1T minced garlic, and 3T water to make the seasoning sauce
Place the deodeok coated in sesame oil mixture in a pan and cook for 1 minute
Flip and brush with a thin layer of seasoning sauce, then flip again and season and cook both sides
