Spread out the shredded dried squid, cut into 3-4 sections with scissors, and separate any tangled strands.
Bring water to a boil in a steamer, line the basket with parchment paper, add the squid, and steam for 2 minutes.
Remove the steamed squid and let it cool for a moment.
In a pan, combine gochujang 1T, dark soy sauce 1T, starch syrup 3T, water 3T, and mayonnaise 3T and bring to a gentle boil.
Turn off the heat, add the shredded squid, toss to coat with the sauce, and finish with sesame oil 1T.
