Wash 2 cups of rice and soak thoroughly for 30 minutes
Add the soaked rice and 500ml of water to a pot and bring to a boil over high heat with the lid open
When air pockets appear between the rice grains and the water is absorbed (3-5 minutes), close the lid and cook over low heat for 10 minutes
After 10 minutes, open the lid, place bean sprouts on top of the rice, close the lid again, and cook for 5 more minutes
Turn off the heat and let steam for 5 minutes to finish the rice
Mix dark soy sauce, red pepper flakes, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and sesame seeds to make the sauce and serve alongside
