Pat the tofu dry using paper towels
Cut onion, green onion, and kimchi into bite-sized pieces
Combine gochugaru, soy sauce, starch syrup, mirin, sugar, and minced garlic to prepare the sauce
Oil a pan and lightly pan-fry both sides of the tofu
Remove the tofu; in the same pan, lay down onion and kimchi, place tofu on top, then pour in 500ml water
Spoon sauce over everything, add green onion and sesame oil, and braise for 10 minutes until done
