Wash the glutinous rice 2-3 times and soak for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Remove the wing tips, tail, and fatty neck parts from the chicken. Stuff the inside of the chicken with 5 whole garlic cloves and 4-5T of soaked glutinous rice.
Make slits on both inner thighs of the chicken and cross the drumsticks to secure.
Place 1 onion, 1 green onion stalk, 5 whole garlic cloves, and the remaining soaked glutinous rice into a soup stock pouch.
Add 2.5L of water and the chicken to a pot. Once it comes to a boil, skim off the impurities for 5 minutes.
Add 1 bottle of ssanghwa-tang, the glutinous rice stock pouch, 0.5T salt, onion, green onion, and 5 whole garlic cloves. Cover with a lid and simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
