Loosen the dried shredded squid and cut into thirds with scissors
Toss with 2 tbsp mirin, then add 2 tbsp cooking oil and toss again to coat evenly
Stir-fry gently over the lowest heat for 4 minutes and transfer to a plate
In the same pan, add 2 tbsp starch syrup, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp water; bring to a boil then turn off the heat
Add the stir-fried squid, toss to coat with the sauce, then drizzle with 1 tbsp sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds
