Wash the peeled burdock root strips from the water pack twice.
Place 500g burdock root, 800ml water, 80ml soy sauce, 5 tbsp cooking oil, and 4 tbsp black sugar in a pan and bring to a boil. Reserve 1 tbsp of black sugar for the end.
When a little water remains and the burdock root is cooked, add 5 tbsp corn syrup and gently stir while reducing the remaining water completely, then sprinkle the reserved 1 tbsp black sugar and sesame seeds.
