Scrub the cucumbers clean under running water.
Cut off 5cm from each end of the cucumbers and slice diagonally.
Place cucumbers in a bowl, sprinkle with 1 tbsp coarse salt, toss well, and let sit for 10 minutes.
Cut onion and garlic chives into bite-sized pieces.
Rinse the salted cucumbers in cold water and drain in a colander.
While the cucumbers are draining, prepare the seasoning sauce.
Add cucumbers and onion to a bowl, add 2/3 of the seasoning sauce and toss.
Add garlic chives and the remaining seasoning sauce and toss to finish.
